Women's Custom Clothing
Did you know that only 30% women have body shapes and sizes that fit well in standard size clothes off the rack? The ready-to-wear fashion industry assumes that as a woman increases or decreases in size, all parts of her body increase or decrease proportionally, which is simply not true. The fashion industry often designs clothing for women with ideal bodies, usually a tiny waist and an hourglass figure. Clothing brands develop new designs in a sample size (usually a 2 or 4) and expand or decrease that pattern into a range of sizes, so unless a woman has the exact same proportions, a garment from that size range will not fit her well. Furthermore, many fashion brands limit their largest size to a 12 or 14 when the average American woman is a size 16 or 18. Needless to say, the system is broken and women are seriously undeserved by the fashion industry.
I've listened to what women had so say and decided the best path for me as a fashion designer is to design and sew custom made-to-measure garments one at a time for individual women. Custom women's clothing is the main service I offer. I use a combination of traditional and computer aided pattern drafting methods to make garments that fit and flatter women in all shapes and sizes. The computer drafting program I use records your measurements and can draft well fitting patterns in seconds.

Why Custom?
  1. Perfect Fit: Garments will fit and flatter your unique body shape.
  2. Unique Styles: You're an individual and you want your style to stand out from the rest!
  3. Eco friendly: Overproduction and pollution are HUGE problems with the fashion industry; custom clothing is a less wasteful and more efficient alternative.
  4. Slow Fashion: Your money goes to a local artisan rather than a large corporation and factory workers overseas. Your garment will be well made and loved for many years to come.

My Process
1. Initial consultation: We discuss the garment(s) you'd like created and select fabrics. Measurements are taken. Contract signed. 50% deposit required up front.
2. First sample sewn. Pattern and design adjustments. Depending on the design, this garment may be sewn in inexpensive muslin fabric to evaluate the fit and pattern.
3. Fittings: Many garments take only 1 or 2 fittings to perfect. Complex designs may require up to 6 fittings.
4. Balance paid. You receive your custom Carl Wesley garment and are given care instructions to ensure it is loved and worn for many years to come!

These prices DO NOT include the cost of fabric and supplies which are billed to you at cost. I realize my work is not cheap, but it is impossible for me to compete with poorly made fast fashion.
